Galdour The Wand, Sword, and Phoenix is An Epic Fantasy Book

J.K. Moore gives us a taste of the magic and mystery in his book Galdour: The Wand, the Sword, and the Phoenix. It envisages a world that is full of mystery and magic. This 242 pages book is a must read as it transforms its readers into a totally different world. Each chapter has some new adventure or some danger that the characters have to undertake and prove their mettle. This book talks about a great story, interesting characters and extra ordinary story telling. I could compare it to some of the best fantasy novels out today.

The plot is similar to all fairy tales where there is a wicked Queen (Isadora) who has full power over Galdour and rules over it with a fist made of iron. As in the case of all other mystery stories, a small boy along with his siblings, happen to lose their way and bump into Galdour. The introduction is actually slow and it is too late before the action starts. The reader tends to get a little bored waiting for the final action to happen but when the action starts, there is no break needed. J.K.Moore has actually given a thought to a lot of details and the story does work despite people trying to compare this magical piece of writing to that of J.K.Rowling's Harry Potter.

The action actually starts when the little boy and his siblings enter the wicked Queens’s kingdom. It is at this time that all the things start getting haywire for them. It reminds one of their childhood days when they read stories in which there is always a wicked queen who wants everyone to stay in grief and in despair and keeps her happy. This book is action packed and grabs the attention of all its readers at the end. The ending of the book is beautifully written and manages to gain the sympathy of the readers. A mixture of Harry Potter and Chronicles of Narnia, this book manages to stand out on its own. The author does prove his knowledge on writing and magic and there is no doubt on his capability. All those who will read the book, will definitely agree when they say that J.K.Moore is indeed a gifted writer.

This book is a must read for all who loves action and adventure. There is this particular scene in the book that of the Twisted Tundra when they were in the cave and things went haywire for them and this is key in how the kids managed to save their brother from the wicked queen Isadora. The ending is really emotional and touching when the kids are reunited. If asked, yes I would recommend this book to people who love fairy tales and like adventure in their life. This book and J.K.Moore's attempt definitely deserves a thumbs up and a second edition to the story should come up. For those who do not want to buy a hard copy, there are eBooks available http://www.amazon.com/Galdour-Wand-Sword-Phoenix-ebook/dp/B007YVKQQ6  which are easier to read, so please log on to Amazon and download it on your kindle. You won’t be disappointed with this epic fantasy I guarantee.
